I’ve been asked really good questions since I published my Cloth Diaper 101 blog and I wanted to share them with my blog-readers. If I have addressed a question you have, please feel free to comment and I will do my best to answer it!
My diapers are stained! What can I do?
Sunning (i.e. putting your diapers where the sun can see them), lemon juice in the final rinse, or bleach. I would bleach prefolds and inserts no problem, other diapers I wouldn’t recommend bleaching but I have in the past (and will again) every so often.
What is Tea Tree Oil and why do you use it?
Tea Tree Oil is known as a natural antiseptic and has wonderful deodorizing properties. You can also use it to make a home-made wipe solution. One bottle has last us a year now and we use it in every wash.
How do you diaper at night?
This is why I believe pocket diapers to be superior than other types of cloth diapers – we triple stuff our diapers for both boys at night. No leaks, no rash, no hassle (although they do have one big bottom!). In the past we have: double stuffed, used a cover over a pocket, used two covers over two prefolds, used a prefold in a pocket and changed them every few hours. Unlike disposables you have a lot of options when it comes to night-time diapers and a greater probability to prevent leaks!
Give me more links!
OK! This is an amazing article that is infinitely more thorough than mine with much more research than I have given you.
